When the League of Assassins was first introduced back in Season 2, there was an air of mystery that turned Ras al Ghul and his minions into a fearsome force without too many details to muddle up the story. The assassins were among the best fighters ever seen on the show, and even Oliver and Sara together had trouble defeating one that took them unawares. Then, Season 3 happened, and the League of Assassins lost all of the mystery and fearsomeness that had made it work in small doses in Season 2. Ras al Ghul turned out to be a man operating on whims and prophecies, the assassins could be defeated by a vigilante still in her training buckles, and the mythology was so convoluted that it didnt make any logical sense. Even worse, the plot didnt even die with Ras al Ghul. It lives on, weaker and more diluted than ever.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
