Arrow: Ranking Every Version Of The Black Canary From Worst To Best

3. Sara Lance

A ghost from Oliver Queen's past, Sara Lance showed up alive and well in Starling City as the mysterious 'woman in black'. A shocking diversion from the comic books, she assisted the Emerald Archer on the rooftops as the League of Assassins'-trained warrior known as The Canary.

Sara's resurrection of sorts was an unexpected one, but it was one that greatly benefited the dramatic arcs of former lover Oliver, her sister Laurel and father Quentin, as all three of them had to come to terms with the fact that she had never died all those years ago and ultimately accept this new version of her back into their lives.

On top of that, Sara was by far one of the most formidable heroes to ever grace Team Arrow with her presence. With her exceptional fighting skills and somewhat-revealing outfit, she borrowed quite a bit from the comic book iteration of Dinah Lance - all of which she absolutely pulled off. And Caity Lotz was arguably the most convincing badass in the show's history.

Not really the Black Canary, but still an important part of her overall legacy, Sara carved out her own journey (one that eventually led her to time-traveling hilarity) and, in the process, served as a prototype version for the real one. And what a badass prototype she was.
