Arrow Season 3: 10 Things That Must Happen

1. Flashpoint Crossover

€˜The Flash€™ is hitting our screens this fall and although we haven€™t been given a definite date, it can be expected that it will run alongside Arrow (possibly in The Tomorrow€™s People€™s slot). After the season two finale, fans were treated to a short teaser of Barry Allen€™s first appearance in costume and later in the week, an extended trailer (with The Arrow appearing to advise Barry on his future). This only fuelled further rumours that a crossover is in the pipeline and what better storyline to use than DC Comic€™s Flashpoint? In the comics, a powerless Flash wakes up in an alternative reality where his Mother is still alive, but he never donned his superhero alter ego. Thomas Wayne is Batman (Bruce died during the mugging instead) and Aquaman and Wonder Woman are at war. Flash then sets about trying to reset his timeline and bring the world back to normal before it is destroyed by nuclear war. There are so many interesting possibilities this could take, maybe in this reality Oliver died on the boat and his father, Robert, made it to the island. He survives and returns to Starling, fuelled by his desire to avenge his son€™s death and becomes a murderous Green Arrow figure (similar to Thomas Wayne), killing everyone on his list one at a time. Unfortunately, that would rule Stephen Amell out of what could be an excellent storyline. So possibly, Oliver was injected with the Mirakuru, went mad and Slade Wilson is the protagonist of this world. It also brings forward the possibility of several deceased characters returning like Tommy Merlyn and Moira Queen. Those are just a few examples of what could happen. The advantage of this story is it has unlimited possibilities, and maybe it would be better received when The Flash is a more established television show or if there is a third hero among them, but it is definitely something the writers should think about.
