Arrow Season 4: 6 Things The Candidate Got Right (And 4 It Didn't)
Why would you ever run for Mayor of Star City?!
After the misery of Season 3, Arrow Season 4 - The Age Of The Green Arrow - is bringing with it a lighter tone and more humour. This week we had kidnapping, a man burned alive, a spiralling descent into madness, and grave-digging. Oh well. The Candidate is, as you might suspect, structured around a bid for Mayor from newcomer Jessica Danforth, who's an old friend of Moira Queen. Of course, this being Star City and the worst possible place to be an elected official, things don't exactly go to plan. Oliver is now the Green Arrow, with the promise of doing things differently, although that isn't quite as straightforward as he would've liked, especially with Thea experiencing some (majorly delayed) side-effects of the Lazarus Pit. At this very early stage of the season it's content in doing quite a lot of setup for what's to come later down the line, and as such we don't follow up too much on some of the bigger talking points from last week. It's not concerned with resolving anything yet, but is getting everything in place without going to slowly about it. There's a few new characters introduced (with varying degrees of success), some more plots established, and a couple of decisions that will really shake things up, for better or worse.
