Arrow Season 4: 8 Ways It’ll Be A Totally Different Show This Time

6. Magic And Mythicism

Arrow Oliver Diggle
The CW

Arrow season 3 dealt with the theme of identity, such as who killed Sara Lance, Roy taking the blame for being the Arrow, and Oliver apparently deciding to work for the League of Assassins. This year will be something rather different: magic and mythicism.

These are elements the show has played around with already, such as the Lazarus Pit, but it's going to be a much bigger part this time around, which is likely to see Arrow continuing down a more supernatural path. Part of that will be the resurrection of Sara, which is set to take place in the show before she heads off to DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Another element will be John Constantine, who'll be played by Matt Ryan despite his series (which was on a different network) being cancelled. He's set to appear in episode 5, and his presence will really mean they're ramping up the magic of the show.
