Arrow Season 5: 4 Characters That Absolutely Cannot Die (And 5 That Can)

We're going to be seeing a lot more of Malcolm Merlyn on The CW. He's signed a contract much like that of Wentworth Miller and Katie Cassidy, allowing him to appear regularly across all of the DC TV shows on the network.

It seems a lot of that will be centred on Legends of Tomorrow, where he'll be forming part of the villainous Legion of Doom alongside Damien Darhk, Captain Cold, and Reverse-Flash. Quite how that'll translate across to Arrow isn't clear, but we can no doubt expect Merlyn to appear and continue staking his claim for the Arrowverse's worst father.

And that's the crux of the issue as far as his time on Arrow is concerned. Being on Legends can give him the chance to explore something new, going up against different characters in different time periods, and working alongside some hugely enjoyable fellow villains. On Arrow, though, he's been the main villain, reluctant hero, turncoat, doting dad, and all the way back around, and I'm not really sure what is left to do with him, save for finally having him killed by one of the good guys.
