Arrow Season 7: 10 Reasons It Should Be The Last

7. Genuine Intrigue Surrounding The Big Bad(s)

Arrow Season 7
The CW

The last time that Arrow didn't outright reveal the identity of the Big Bad was in Season 6, and that ended up being so confusing that us viewers are still scratching our heads as to who the main villain actually was. Cayden James was a bust before the interesting but underdeveloped Ricardo Diaz took over. Yet somehow, the writers have managed to create intrigue around Season 7's Big Bad. And all it took was a single line of dialogue.

Diaz referred to the Longbow Hunters during the Season 6 finale, and after the little bit of background we got on them, it certainly sounds like they could be a worthy threat - not just for the show itself, but for its final season. We don't know who they are or what they want, but the fact that they struck fear into the hearts of the League of Assassins and have now aligned themselves with Diaz certainly raises some interesting questions. Furthermore, the fact that Diaz himself will resurface in the upcoming season certainly makes things a little extra combustible.

Arrow has given us some amazing Big Bads over the years. However, very little of them were actually Green Arrow villains. This could be what sets Season 7 apart from the rest. In the comics, Richard Dragon and the Longbow Hunters are among the Green Arrow's greatest foes - so, having them team up on Arrow would undoubtedly be a fitting finale for the comic-inspired TV series.
