Arrow Season 7: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Training Day'

2. Black Siren Vs. Emiko Queen

Following on from last week’s shocking conclusion, which saw Ricardo Diaz burned alive in his cell, Laurel was called upon by Ben Turner (a.k.a. Bronze Tiger) who relayed the news to her. He knew more than he was letting on and refused to reveal who was responsible until she let him see his son. The crafty D.A. managed to make it happen, which proved to be a shock of its own as his son is none other than a young Connor Hawke.

Turner then revealed that the person he saw kill Diaz was the "other" Green Arrow, which was all Laurel needed to point the finger at Emiko Queen (who we now know is shadier than we first thought). Facing off with Oliver's sister in her office, she told her that she knew what she was up to and threatened to reveal the information to Oliver himself. Emiko, however, didn't seem phased at all and even asked her if she actually thought Team Arrow would believe "Black Siren".

After a few too many weeks of supporting other characters, it was nice to see Laurel finally receive some long overdue solo material. Through negotiating with Turner, we got to see just how well she has adapted to her new role as D.A. while also highlighting that ruthless quality that made Black Siren such a compelling character in the first place. However, it's going to be really interesting to see how she handles this crucial information about Emiko and if it could give these two underappreciated characters the spotlight they deserve going forward.
