Arrow Season 7: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'Training Day'

1. A Family Affair

Arrow William Mia
The CW

One of the episode's other primary storylines saw us return to the future as newly united siblings William and Mia attempted to track down a device to play the microcasette that Felicity left for them. Of course, this forced the pair, who weren't exactly fond of each other, to work together, setting the stage for some darn fine stoytelling as they grew to trust in one another's capabilities.

Though they initially hit some roadblocks, the Queen children successfully managed to secure the device they were looking for, utilising both William's brain and Mia's brawn to get the job done. They were then finally able to hear Felicity's voice on the microcasette, taking note of the co-ordinates she spoke of and, in doing so, realised that the location she was directing them to was over the wall. As Mia elaborated, this meant that they were heading to The Glades.

Unlike previous weeks, the flash-forwards did not lean as heavily on mystery this week and, instead, gave us an entertaining self-contained plot that allowed both siblings to get to know each other better, capped off by a really endearing moment as they held onto each other while listening to Felicity's voice. It made us feel much more connected to both characters and gave the flash-forward narrative more of an emotional heart as it builds towards next week's flash-forward-heavy episode.

Speaking of which, Ben Lewis and Katherine McNamara are quickly becoming one of the standout aspects of this season. Their partnership has evolved rather nicely over the last few weeks and the pair have great chemistry together. A show based solely on these two would be an incredibly watchable addition to the Arrowverse line-up. Make it happen, CW!

Now, for the negative...
