Arrow Season 7: 5 Major Questions That Must Be Answered Before The Finale

2. What Happens To Oliver In The Future?

This season's flash-forward narrative has allowed us to catch up with plenty of our favourite characters, giving us a glimpse of what they're like in 20 years time.

It all started when William and Roy returned to Star City before eventually crossing paths with Dinah and the daughter of Oliver and Felicity, Mia Smoak. After a while, the Queen siblings bonded over their shared grief before their quest eventually led them to Felicity who, despite what they had been told, was actually alive. However, her arrival has left us asking an even more important question - one that revolves around the show's protagonist.

Mia's hatred towards vigilantes stems from her feelings about her father's present-day activities as the Green Arrow but, in spite of that, the Emerald Archer has yet to surface in the flash-forwards. On that note, we discovered in 'Star City 2040' that Oliver was absent for much of Mia's childhood, as the future Blackstar ended up getting trained by Nyssa Al Ghul instead. With all that in mind, the question remains: What happens to Oliver in the future?

The writers have undoubtedly been building towards this all season, with plenty of the events that set this future in motion already beginning to take form in the present, but will they finally give us the answers we've been waiting for? It's likely that all will be revealed in the season finale but, given that Oliver's fate could have something to do with Crisis On Infinite Earths (which won't take place until next season), would the writers really spoil how it all ends?
