Arrow Season 7 Finale: 5 Ups & 3 Downs From 'You Have Saved This City'
Ups...
5. Transitioning Between The Present And Future
Given that Arrow has already delivered quite a few visually-pleasing fight scenes between Oliver and Emiko, it's easy to see why fans were so eager about their ultimate showdown in the finale. While the battle itself unfortunately fell below expectations, the adventurous camera work and well-executed transitions thankfully made up for those shortcomings.
As the siblings battled in the present, the show quickly cut to an equally high-intensity scene from the flash-forward narrative as Mia attempted to destroy the Archer programme once and for all.
Much like the Season 2 finale, which saw Oliver and Deathstroke's rooftop fight play out alongside their five-year-old battle on the Amazo, these quick cuts helped to keep us all on the edges of our seats, complementing the Queen vs. Queen war and making it appear a lot more visually-pleasing than it actually was.
Well done, Arrow.
