Arrow Season 8: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
1. Laurel Lance/Black Canary
If we were handing out an award for Arrow Season 8's most valuable player, that award would undoubtedly go to Laurel Lance. A character that had played more of a supporting role throughout the past three seasons, the Earth-2 doppelganger of Oliver Queen's former flame truly came into her own here - thanks, in no small part, to the extended screen-time that she was finally given.
While the season's new format limited what others could do, Laurel thrived because of it, as the destruction of Earth-2 forced the former villain to prove herself a hero one final time - something that she did by joining Oliver's mission to save the multiverse. This paved the way for a number of long-awaited Green Arrow and Black Canary adventures - something we should have seen throughout the whole series - and presented Katie Cassidy with material that allowed the show's most consistent performer to shine.
It only took the writers seven years to remember which character was its leading lady, but if Season 8 was anything to go by, it's a darn shame they didn't remember a heck of a lot sooner. Here's hoping she'll be given that chance full-time when Green Arrow and The Canaries is hopefully picked up.
