Arrow Season 8 Review: 11 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Green Arrow And The Canaries'
2. All Three Characters Are Strong Leads
When the line-up of the potential Arrow spin-off was announced a few months back, there was intrigue surrounding who would lead it. Would it be Arrow's leading lady Katie Cassidy? What about fellow Black Canary and Season 5 stalwart Juliana Harkavy? Or maybe it was destined to be vibrant newcomer Katherine McNamara? Well, the backdoor pilot provided a simple answer to that question: All three of them.
The fact of the matter is that there is no one main character to focus on here. Laurel is very much the team leader as it stands, Dinah is the former vigilante attempting to figure out who she is in this new timeline and Mia is ready to continue her father's legacy - but she can't do it alone. The dynamic between all three women is a strong one, making use of their previous interactions (and lack thereof) in order to form a solid foundation upon which the rest of the show can be built.
The show is called Green Arrow and The Canaries for good reason: All three of them are leading ladies.
