Arrow Season 8 Review: 11 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Green Arrow And The Canaries'

1. It's Occasionally Vague When Bridging The Gap

While the episode delved into Dinah and Mia's stories rather deep, it held back when it came to Laurel as it was clear that the writers were holding off exploring her arc until further into the series - or the Arrow series finale. Similarly, it made plenty of references of Oliver's death, but there wasn't a single mention of Felicity in terms of where she ended up in the future - and why she didn't apparently attend Mia's graduation.

Okay, so we shouldn't really be judging the backdoor pilot for this, given that Green Arrow and The Canaries will explore these situations if it gets picked up to series, but because of where it was placed in Arrow's running order of episodes, we could have done with a little more clarity in these aspects.

That being said, it was rather minor, didn't take away from viewers' enjoyment of the episode and again, is completely understandable given that it's to serve as a pilot.

Now, for the positives...
