2. William's Coming Out Scene

It goes without saying that 'Present Tense' was an episode that ran high on emotions. But the most striking of all its scenes was the one in which William reconnected with his father and, in the process, came out to him.

As he uttered those words ("I'm gay") and nervously waited for his father's reaction, Oliver's face gently formed into the warmest of smiles before confirming that he and Felicity had known all along.

One of the biggest complaints regarding young William's departure in Season 7 stemmed from the fact that we'd never get to see him open up to his father about who he was, but this scene corrected that. It was such a genuine moment between father and son - one that was both powerful and subtle - and both Ben Lewis and Stephen Amell captured the warmth of this scene beautifully.
