Arrow Season 8 Review: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Welcome To Hong Kong'
4. The Fight Scenes
Arrow is known for its edge-of-seat fight sequences. It always has been, and even though the endless group fights grew weary midway through its run, the impressive choreography has always made up for that. And as the last two seasons have reinvigorated them with a little more experimental directing, it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that they are once again one of the best things about the show.
'Welcome To Hong Kong' was overflowing with fight scenes - and all of them were awesome. The first of them saw Oliver and Diggle fight a horde of armed men in an eerie yellow hallway and, while the lighting surely added to the feel, it was the gritty close-ups and slow-mo shots of the villains getting planted through tables that really stood out.
However, the real show-stealer was the final battle in which Katana went head-to-head with China White. Evenly matched, and with a whole lot of history behind them, it was a fitting conclusion to the pair's arcs that also served as a fitting finale to this episode's tribute to Season 3.
