Arrow Series Finale: What Does The Ending Really Mean?
9. What Happened?
Arrow's final hour was both a tribute to its past and a glimpse of the Arrowverse's future. Taking place in the aftermath of Oliver's death in the Crisis, it delved into how his sacrifice - and the way in which he rebirthed the universe - changed things dramatically. That gave us, as viewers, a chance to catch up with some of our favourite characters who were no longer a regular presence on the show.
The main body of the finale, however, was focused on bidding farewell to Oliver, as the town gathered to pay their respects to the Green Arrow - with the newly revived Quentin Lance unveiling a beautiful statue of the Emerald Archer in his memory. This was then followed by a memorial service in which countless faces from Arrow's past - and the Arrowverse itself- united to bid Oliver farewell.
But before things could wrap up, a mysterious object soared through the air just as John Diggle was packing up, crash-landing before him. Meanwhile, Laurel, Dinah and Rene all attempted to figure out who they were while one of the show's longest-running couples finally took their relationship to the next level. As for our primary hero, he found his own happiness...
