Arrow Series Finale: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

8. Oliver's Sacrifice Has Completely Rewritten Arrow's Story

We knew that Crisis On Infinite Earths would have quite the impact on reality itself - we've already seen some of that impact over on Supergirl and Batwoman - but it's fair to say that we didn't expect it to essentially rewrite the history of Arrow.

Thanks to Oliver's sacrifice, the matriarch of the Queen family Moira was never killed by Deathstroke's blade as, according to this new timeline, Oliver broke free and wrestled Slade to the ground. A welcome change no doubt, but Moira wasn't the only one to benefit from the rewrite, as his sister Emiko (apparently) never became the villainous leader of the Ninth Circle, Tommy Merlyn never died in The Undertaking and went on to marry Laurel (who was inexplicably still dead) and Quentin Lance also survived his Season 6 death at the hands of Ricardo Diaz.

The fact is that Star City now looks drastically different to the one we were familiar with, but it's good to know that, if we ever decide to revisit the present-day version, there will be a ton of familiar faces waiting for us.
