27. The Flash Season 5
Things certainly improved in The Flash's fifth season but that couldn't prevent it from falling victim to similar pitfalls. Nora West-Allen's introduction livened things up, but it wasn't long before her arc started going round in circles as she proceeded to make the same mistakes over and over again.
Moreover, Cicada was an underwhelming villain. The writers tried humanising him and it worked to an extent, but whenever he showed up in costume, he'd mumble a few "this ends nooooowww"s before popping off everytime something went wrong. And Team Flash kept allowing it to happen.
That said, it thrived whenever it leaned on Reverse-Flash and, because of this, it offered up one of its very best finales.
