Ash Vs. Evil Dead Trailer: 6 Things You Need To Know

4. It's Going To Get GORY

One of the major concerns about transferring the Evil Dead saga to a premium cable network like Starz was whether it would be able to match the buckets (lots and lots and lots of buckets) of blood and gore that defined the films. Don't worry. In a single three minute trailer Raimi has gifted fans more gore than they could ever wish for. There's a flashback to Ash sawing his own arm off in Evil Dead II. There's Ash repeatedly and forcefully stabbing a deadite in the neck with a broken bottle, with blood splattering everywhere. There's another image of Ash firing his boomstick at the head of a terrifying looking creature - "let's tango, bitch!" - before blood coats the screen and the faces of his co-stars. Best of all? Someone gets stabbed in the hand with a pair of scissors. Ouch. Clearly, Raimi and Campbell only agreed to Starz' terms as long as they were allowed to be as graphic and gory as they possibly could. Praise be to the Necronomicon.
