3. Levi Vs. Kenny's Squad
There aren't many men who could cause Captain Levi to lose his cool. There are even less of them that can stand up to him during a battle. So it was interesting to see him do battle with his uncle, Kenny, and his personal squadron of soldiers.
With the government turning on the survey corps, there was now a target on the team's head and Kenny was taking aim. This began as an absolutely beautiful action scene, which was not only extremely violent, but also asked some important questions that helped set the tone for most of the season.
On one hand, you've got Levi being his bad-ass self, swinging around the Trost district, ducking and dodging Kenny's gunshots, while cutting down member's of his squadron. However, our heroes are only used to killing Titans, not fellow human beings.
Instead of just brushing past the situation, the writers really delve into the psychological trauma this has on some of the members of the team.
