Avatar The Last Airbender: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best
Water, Earth, Fire, Air, which characters from The Last Airbender handle these elements best!
When you talk about shows that were truly ahead of their time, it's impossible not to bring up Nickelodeon's Avatar The Last Airbender. This cartoon series - created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino - deals with more adult themes and tragic circumstances than even the most mature modern television shows, despite being designed for children.
The world of Avatar is incredibly well-crafted, with the simple concept of element bending acting as the foundation of each culture that you see in the world. There is a simplicity to the set-up that is developed by the plot and most importantly, the characters.
The main cast of Avatar are some of the most well-written and loveable protagonists ever put to screen, as they all play significant roles in the team but are unique enough to stand on their own.
Ranking these parts from worst to best is an arduous task as they all present themselves to be as important as each other. But discussing them in detail will allow us to look back on this phenomenal show and figure out what helped to make it such a success.
A major spoiler warning is in effect.
7. Suki
Avatars introduction of the Kiyoshi Warriors was a powerful aspect of the first series. Since it was a show designed for children of both genders there seemed to be a focus on establishing that in this world sexism exists, but that it is unfounded. This led to the introduction of a future Team Avatar member in the form of Suki.
Suki is a solid presence in the show, as she is a great example of a strong warrior, who doesn't bend. However, she easily ranks lowest for a few reasons, the first being that she simply doesn't spend enough time as a leading figure in the series, and thus feels a little less relevant than the others.
More on from this, although she starts strong and has a distinct look - with the Kiyoshi garbs - once she officially joins the team and becomes Sokka's main love interest, she becomes devoid of any unique traits. Ultimately she becomes just another number in the group dressed and designed to look like any other character.
It is a real shame as Suki is really loveable and incredibly kick-ass.
