Bates Motel: 10 Actresses Who Should Play Marion Crane

Water pressure's the least of her problems...

With Bates Motel chalking up three seasons, the source material of Alfred Hitchcock and Robert Bloch's Psycho is being well and truly left behind. Yet a major character who could enter the action from the book/movie is Marion Crane, the secretary from out of town, on the run with her bosses' money. The film fools viewers into thinking she's the protagonist as it follows her from the scene of the crime to the threshold of a seemingly-harmless, family-run establishment. But of course she's about to meet a gory demise in the most infamous shower scene in cinema history. Producer Carlton Cuse has stated he's not that interested in sticking to the plot of the original shocker. However the death of Marion was the world's first glimpse of the horror behind the handsome facade of Norman Bates, so the writers must at least be bearing this factor in mind! The show recreates the classic architecture of the Bates' home turf... so why not throw one of its most notorious customers into the mix? From up and comers to established talent, here are ten actresses who could step into the shoes of 1960s star Janet Leigh... a line up that would be enough to make Norman reach for his mother's wardrobe/cutlery drawer several times over!
