This one is really going to mess with fans' minds! Well-known from her performances in American Horror Story (the Murder House chapter could have been written by Psycho's Robert Bloch!) and The Bling Ring, she also of course has a strong connection to Bates Motel via her sister Vera. Marion is a pivotal figure for Norman in the franchise mythology, and what would be more unsettling for the young puppy-stuffer than an encounter with a young woman who bears more than a passing resemblance to his overbearing mother? Sparks would fly faster than R2-D2 crashing into a woodsaw! Farmiga is also an up and coming actress who has already worked with directors Sofia Coppola, Ti West (In A Valley Of Violence ) and the lesser-glimpsed but legendary Warren Beatty, for his imminent Howard Hughes project. Though her signing may be seen as a gimmick, it may also work wonders for the series. And any scenes between the two real life siblings would be onscreen dynamite!
