Bates Motel: 10 Actresses Who Should Play Marion Crane

4. January Jones

Psycho's director Alfred Hitchcock had a thing (putting it mildly) for cool blonde women. So if the Bates Motel team were wanting to pay tribute to the "Master of Suspense" they might opt for an actress he'd cast if he were working today. January Jones is etched into peoples' minds via Mad Men as the contrary and troubled Betty Draper - in fact Betty could quite easily take Marion's place in Bloch's story, blending in seamlessly. While Jones probably isn't in a hurry to revisit such immaculately-dressed territory again, the prospect of driving up to the notorious neon sign of the planet's most lethal motel may well interest her, as long as it was a cameo or similar appearance. Marion's entrance potentially forms a powerful conclusion to the saga, bridging the gap between the old and new, and creating an intriguing entry on her CV! The main upside of the casting is seeing more of Jones as a performer. She was bored-looking in Liam Neeson thriller Unknown (weren't we all?), but her acting was always top notch in her former show. Also the age difference between her and Freddie Highmore (Norman) would generate a different dynamic.
