Batman: 10 Lessons Gotham TV Series Can Learn From Arrow

1. Lay Off The Cheese

uma thurman poison ivy Perhaps Arrows biggest flaw is that the dialogue can get quite cheesy at times (hopefully season two will dispense with the phrase "You have failed this city" every episode). This is made even more jarring by the fact that the show tries so hard to be dark, and borrows heavily from the cheese-free Dark Knight. In 2013 it's easier to tell a superhero story without too much groan inducing dialogue. The Marvel movies have far more ridiculous concepts than anything in Arrow, but thanks to writers like Joss Whedon, it's rare that you roll your eyes while watching them. As Gotham might be more of a straight up cop show, with a protagonist that definitely won't be suiting up, it should be able to avoid this problem.
