Battlestar Galactica: 10 Most Disturbing Episodes

6. Collaborators

Battlestar Galatica Starbuck Maelstrom
Universal

There are vigilantes amongst the Colonial Fleet, now that they are in the midst of this, the second exodus. Six members of a circle, which includes Colonel Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol and Samuel Anders, are discussing those people who collaborated with the Cylons on New Caprica and then systematically murdering them. At least thirteen people are killed for their dealings with the Cylons by this group.

As the episode progresses, Sam Anders decides that he can't be a part of this anymore and leaves the group. The group then select Starbuck to take his place and they go after Felix Gaeta, the technical officer who left the military to serve as assistant to the puppet President Gaius Baltar. Gaeta is dragged into a launch tube and given a chance to exonerate himself. At first he refuses, until Starbuck beats it out of him.

He tells them that during the occupation, he would sneak information to the Resistance, specifically to Galen Tyrol. Tyrol never knew who the informant was, but since Gaeta got the details right, he insists that he has to go free, since his actions saved lives. Horrified at what they have become, the Circle disbands.

The final nail in the coffin is that this circle was commissioned officially by acting President Tom Zarek. No trial, no jury, just cold vigilante justice.

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
