Battlestar Galactica: Every Starbuck Episode Ranked Worst To Best

2. Someone To Watch Over Me

This episode served as one of the greatest WTF moments in the entire run of the show. Starbuck opens the episode serving as CAG once more, sending missions out to find habitable worlds, fresh food, water and hope. There is a true sense of grim death hanging over everyone and the haunting score by Bear McCreary heightens this heavy air.

She finds solace in the bar on the hanger deck, listening to a pianist named Slick attempting to write a new piece. She berates him, noting the similarities to other pieces of music.

As the episode goes on, they grow closer until he finally convinces her to sit beside him on the piano stool. She places a drawing that Hera had given her on the music stand and together, she and Slick pick out the melody and harmony. Across the bar, Tigh, Ellen and Tori slowly turn their heads.

It is a jaw dropping moment as, in that melody, Starbuck's story is brought together with the Cylon Final Five.
