3. The Mark of Zorro

The pilot episode's main storyline revolved around The Crows' attempts to restore order in Gotham, and that meant allowing the city to host one of its first major outdoor public events in three years. That event was a movie in the park, and the movie in question was, of course, The Mark of Zorro.

A film that has become synonymous with the Batman character (and not just because the protagonist is a masked hero with a penchant for black clothing), it is more often than not depicted as the film that the Wayne Family were seeing on the night that Thomas and Martha were killed - the moment that forged their heartbroken child into the creature of the night that would loom over Gotham for years to come.

It was only fitting that Batwoman was also born as that same film played.
