Batwoman Season 1 Review: 9 Ups & 5 Downs

4. Patchy CGI

Batwoman Episode 2 CGI
The CW

Batwoman's reliance on rooftop battles results in a troubling amount of poor CGI rather early-on. It doesn't always stick out like a sore thumb but once you spot it, it's hard to unsee.

Other Arrowverse shows have experienced their fair share of bad CGI throughout the course of their runs so it's not exactly off-putting - and given that Batwoman is also a TV series, we're not expecting cinematic-level sights all the time. That said, this show in particular should have adopted a more grounded visual approach in the early-going - like Arrow. After all, we certainly didn't see any poor CGI in its first two seasons.

Thankfully, the message sinks in throughout the season as the show relies on those CGI backdrops a lot less as it goes on.
