Batwoman Season 1 Review: 9 Ups & 5 Downs

3. Some Characters Are Underdeveloped

Batwoman Episode 3 Truth
The CW

Batwoman does contain some of the best character development in recent TV memory (and we will get to that shortly), but that doesn't prevent it from giving us a few turkeys along the way.

While most of the main characters are fine, the show does struggle on occasion when it comes to presenting some of its less-regular characters as actual people.

Catherine Hamilton-Kane is billed as a regular character and barely surfaces to do anything other than be a socialite, and when she does, her characterisation leaves a little something to be desired. And the same can be said for the show's recurring reinvention of Tommy Elliot who just feels like he's evil for the sake of being evil. And though his eventual transition into Hush looks magnificent, his arc could have been so much stronger.
