Better Call Saul: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
8. Stevie - Hero (S1E4)
Before he was Saul Goodman, Jimmy McGill was a full-time scammer, better-known as Slippin' Jimmy. Over the years, he accumulated dozens of elaborate schemes to rob unsuspecting victims. Although he talks about these exploits in the first few episodes, we don't see Slippin' Jimmy in action until the fourth episode, Hero.
In the opening scene, Jimmy and his associate, Stevie, come across a drunk in an alleyway. Since the drunkard is barely conscious, the pair decide to steal his Rolex and wallet. When Stevie falsely believes Jimmy is underestimating how much a Rolex is worth, he trades him $580 of his own cash for the watch. Stevie then walks away, confident he has successfully swindled his partner.
Little does Stevie know that the "unconscious drunk" is Marco - Jimmy's partner-in-crime. Several weeks ago, the pair bought a bunch of fake Rolexes, and have pulled this scam many times, amassing thousands of dollars.
The character of Stevie is a great example of subverting expectations since you believe he is conning Jimmy upon the first viewing, while in reality, he is the one being conned.
