Better Call Saul: 10 Things You Need To Know
All the details about the Breaking Bad spin-off! (Except whether Walt's in it...)
AMC are really going for the double whammy this weekend. Not content with bringing The Walking Dead back to screens to upset fans for the latter half of its fifth season, they're finally going to help audiences get over that Breaking Bad-shaped hole in their lives. Which, rather cannily, they're doing by premiering their Breaking Bad spin-off show, Better Call Saul. Picking up where Breaking Bad left off (and before Breaking Bad, and also a little in the middle of Breaking Bad...it's confusing, more on that later), the series will promote Bill Odenkirk's weasily, moral-deficient lawyer to the lead and focus on the early days of his career (along with the later years, and the middle years...again, confusing). The show will debut this Sunday on AMC with two brand new, full hour episodes that will expand the scope of the Breaking Bad universe away from the increasingly nihilistic hijinks of Heisenberg and his wonderful blue crystal. Expect a few more laughs, and just as much exploration of the damaged, violent male psyche. But also jokes! You can probably go into the season cold provided you already watched Breaking Bad but like, who hasn't seen Breaking Bad at this point, and who's watching this without watching Breaking Bad but just in case you can wait a couple of days, here are ten things you need to know about Better Call Saul.
