Better Call Saul: 6 Dead Breaking Bad Characters We Want To Return
2. Gustavo Fring
Of course, one of the main characters just about everybody wants to see return in the Better Call Saul prequel is Gustavo Fring. Restaurateur by day, Drug Kingpin by night, Gus was one of the most feared characters in Breaking Bad and later one of the more loathsome ones due to the fact he served as Walts arch-nemesis. Gus got his face blown off by a bomb planted by Walt in the aptly-titled episode Face Off in one of Breaking Bad's most brutal (and memorable) scenes, and the show wasn't quite the same following Giancarlo Esposito's departure as a cast member. It isn't often that a villain garners almost as much popularity as a protagonist but Gus was just as well-received as Walt's character and there will be many out there who want to see more of him. There's certainly plenty of scope for Gustavo to feature in a prequel given his backstory. Gustavo started a chicken restaurant with long-time friend Maximino "Max" Arciniega before becoming a feared criminal, and it would be interesting to see more of how this relationship developed. Gus also claimed to have children in Breaking Bad, though these are never seen onscreen, and it would be intriguing to see this aspect of his life fleshed out in Better Call Saul.
