Better Call Saul: Predicting The Fate Of Every Main Character
4. Lalo Salamanca
Lalo was a late entry into the Better Call Saul universe, coming in season 4 and then dominating season 5. Tony Dalton's work in coming into an already large and expansive world and making it better with his psychotic, yet endlessly charming, and never before seen Salamanca has to be noted as exceptional in a series that demands exceptional as standard.
The moustached lunatic has only one goal in his head, which is to destroy Gus Fring, however, we already know that this plan will fail because we know just how Gus dies. What the show does really well is leave us wondering HOW it will fail, Gould and Gilligan have proved themselves masters of creating anticipation in a situation that leads to a place that we have already seen.
Looking at Lalo's present situation, he has just survived an assassination attempt, with badass bonus points for taking out a team of assassins with relative ease, and now has gone after the one person that he suspects has let them in, Nacho.
It appears then that Lalo has the upper hand in that Gus now believes him to be dead and Lalo now knows that it was Nacho that betrayed him. However, Gus isn't your average drug lord, he is smart, calculating and ruthless. The difference between Lalo and Gus is that Lalo can let emotion get in the way, Gus is driven by pure vengeance, which has rendered him near-emotionless in his unrelenting plan to take out the cartel. Which may just be Lalo's downfall.
Prediction: Killed By Fring (Or By His Order)
