Big Bang Theory Vs. Friends - 8 Key Battles

4. Monica Geller-Bing Vs. Rajesh Koothrappali

Why This Match?: While Raj is not a chef like Monica, he does fancy himself as a self-made Gordon Ramsey, preparing haute cuisine dishes for his ungrateful friends whenever the opportunity presents itself. Raj is also very particular when it comes to certain things, specifically his looks, while Monica is OCD about, well, everything. The Battle: Monica was perhaps the most consistent of all the Friends, with most of her season one quirks and idiosyncratic tics remaining for the duration of the show€™s run. Yes, they became overstated to the point of ridiculousness by the end, but she never suffered from the same kind of total personality shift as the rest of the group. Of all the women in Friends, Monica was the funniest, involved in the best storylines, and easily the most likeable. Raj is the opposite. Beginning life as a shy Asian boy struggling to overcome his crippling neurosis with regards to women, he underwent a cosmic shift that turned him into a desperate letch so pathetic and whiny that you almost hoped he never would find the love he craved. He wasn't helped by scatterbrained writers confusing camp and effeminate characteristics with being homosexual, and having the supposed-genius have no comprehension of what he was saying or doing. It often felt like the direction they were going was to have Raj come out as gay, but for whatever reason they didn't have the confidence to go fully in that direction. The Winner: Monica. One of the highlights of Friends throughout its run, Monica was someone you could rely on and look forward to watching, while Raj was someone you wouldn't trust to be in a room alone with your girlfriend. Come on, he tried to sleep with Penny and Bernadette! What a heel. Score: Friends 2-3 The Big Bang Theory
