Black Mirror: 10 Character Fates Worse Than Death

2. Black Museum - Trapped Inside A Stuffed Toy

When it comes to impossibly torturous fates, Black Mirror has never been short of a few truly horrific ideas. And it's in the second story of Black Museum, that Carrie (Alexandra Roach) falls victim to one of these horrific fates.

After falling into a coma, Carrie's chances of coming out dwindle and in steps mad scientist Rolo Haynes - who convinces Jack to euthanize Carrie and then transfer a digital copy of her consciousness over to Jack - effectively sharing a body.

Things quickly don't go as planned, as Carrie and Jack argue over conscious space within Jack's physical form. When it becomes clear that Carrie has no control anymore in their relationship, we as an audience know this will certainly not have a happy ending.

Carrie's consciousness is then transferred to an adorable stuffed monkey toy - an everlasting gift for Carrie and Jack's son, Parker. With no ability to move herself, and only able to command two pre-assigned phrases, Carrie is left at the mercy of her son and widowed husband.

And like most kids, they eventually grow tired of their toys and Monkey Carrie is eventually discarded and forgotten. Trapped in a physical form she cannot move, banned from being destroyed because it would technically be murder, Carrie is immortalised in a forgotten and unwanted toy.

That is until the end when Nish rescues Carrie from the Black Museum - but still, what kind of life is Carrie going to live now? Maybe Nish will be kind enough to shred her to ribbons?

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
