Black Mirror: 5 Reasons Why It's The Best Thing On TV

5. It's Well Acted

whitebear Every good TV show needs a good actor or actress and in the second episode of series two, White Bear, Victoria, portrayed by Lenora Crichlow (Doctor Who, Death In Paradise) put in a commanding performance that easily bested the acting of the actors alongside her. Playing a woman who has lost her memory, Crichlow's constant state of perpetual confusion alongside her constant wailing and panic-stricken heavy breathing really sets the tone for this atmospheric episode and has the audience on the edge of their seats. Her soul-shattering tormented screaming at the end also hammers home Charlie Brooker's dark plotline and portrays the extreme state of hopelessness by the time the end credits role. Considering much of White Bear's story is from Victoria's perspective, and that not a lot seems to be happening at first, it is important that the audience shares her experience with her in order for them to be dragged through the story, and we end up feeling the state of terror and confusion endured by Victoria as a result.
