BoJack Horseman: 10 Best Supporting Characters

6. Kelsey Jannings

Known predominantly in her industry as the “Indie darling” for her proficiency and prolific talent behind the camera, Kelsey Jannings is the most straight-faced, straight-up personality on the show. She has an identity, along with mannerisms, that to some may even seem manic depressive or cynical, but at her core Kelsey is undeniably an extremely good-hearted person.

We’re first introduced to Kelsey like most of the soon to be victims, she’s doing fairly well in life and her career seems to be progressing at a steady pace. Until she ends up being offered the role of a lifetime, leading her to take a tremendous leap of faith on a blockbuster production known as “Secretariat”. Which would’ve been a big break if she didn’t break the number one rule of professionalism; don’t form a personal relationship with your co-worker.

Although it’s not a sexually charged relationship like so many others revolving around BoJack seem to be, she still pays a price for it in the end.

Despite being resilient to his idea of filming a scene that was excluded, at first. The loving mother who initially took the job to send her daughter to a better school, allows artistic vision (and a little BoJack influence) to cloud her judgement, causing her to be fired from the production.

Unlike every other tragedy that occurs to unsuspecting victims, her career miraculously recovers, but it comes at a cast as she’s once again reverted to creating lower-budget films.
