BoJack Horseman: 10 Best Supporting Characters

2. Sarah-Lynn

This one’s still too much, man.

The character that arguably gets the shittiest stick in an ensemble that thrive on the crappiest parts of their lives is this poor mistreated girl. A metaphorical representation of an astute reflection of the real-life iniquities and disingenuity that the image of the typical child-star portrays.

Starting her career shortly after starting her life, Sarah-Lynn was manufactured to be a currency generator and product of the entertainment industry from the outset. To nobody’s surprise, this sends her on a path of destruction that has no detours but many shortcuts.

After she leaves Horsin’ Around, she becomes a pop star, an Oscar winner and an unquenchable alcoholic with the undertones of a self-deprecating drug problem. This is until BoJack steps in and turns it into an inescapable reality and when the two attend a non-stop bender with the capacity of only the two, she prematurely meets her demise at 31, in a relentlessly realistic fashion.

The spirit-crushing fact of everything aforementioned is that every event listed could’ve been easily averted, but her screams of pain are mistaken for exuberant, joyous laughter, there’s only so much an outside influence can do. It’s just a shame it wasn’t a positive outside influence.
