The course of season five focused on BoJack’s life making Philbert, which also tied together the majority of the main cast. Mr. Peanutbutter also starred, Princess Carolyn and Diane were producers, and Todd somehow got to be high up in the company that brought the show to life.

With its ending came the close of all of their story arcs. Todd went back to being regular old Todd, ditching the suit and killing Henry Fondle, Mr. Peanutbutter proposed to Pickles instead of telling her he cheated on her, and Princess Carolyn was finally able to adopt a wonderful, healthy baby. The biggest shift however, came with BoJack.

After five whole seasons of alcohol and drug abuse, he was able to admit that he needed help. Coming after his episode of not being able to tell himself and Philbert apart and nearly killing Gina, BoJack checked into rehab.

It has always been difficult to root for BoJack, as he is such a bad person, and in season five especially, he found a way to justify his awful actions with no consequences or real change. This episode absolutely changed everything for him however, as he put the years of substance and emotional abuse of other people behind him, and made a positive change in his life. It's never too late.
