BoJack Horseman: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season Four
Season four beats its predecessor because of its increased focussed on BoJack's backstory. With episodes such as "Ruthie" and "Time's Arrow," the show really starts to dig deeply into the past of its flawed protagonist, and does so with inventive narrative approaches and a tighter focus on BoJack's mother.
The episodes dealing with Beatrice's backstory make for a series of staggering achievements, allowing the show to play about with the emotions of the characters like never before.
The season also features Princess Carolyn's heartbreaking coping mechanism, as well as one of the show's all-time greats, "Stupid Piece of Sh*t," a dark, inventive character study that takes the plunge deep into BoJack's mind.
With its foot to floor, season four has it all, from the philosophical themes, the tragic revelations and the daring assessments about life, mental health and society. It's BoJack at the height of its powers, and it speaks volumes about the show's excellence that it's not the number one pick...
