BoJack Horseman Season Six: 10 Best Moments
9. BoJack’s New Hair
He’s really been dying it for twenty years?!
On the face of it, this is a fairly minor moment: a character gets a haircut. As is typical BoJack though, the moment has a greater meaning to it. Sometimes a coffee cup is just a coffee cup, but here the haircut definitely represents a change for BoJack.
For one, stopping dying his hair shows BoJack finally facing up to his own reality, if only in a small way. Showing a grey BoJack demonstrates his new maturity and willingness to move forward. The fact that it’s done by the former hairdresser of Horsin’ Around, fired as a result of BoJack’s negligence, gives him some retribution too.
More than that though, combined with his new teaching job, it seems like it’s setting him up for a new step in his life. Of course, another few moments threaten to pull the rug out from under him later, but at the time it’s a brief glimmer of positivity.
With just eight episodes left, there’s still a lot of character development to happen, and BoJack’s change of image could be a key part of that.
