Could there be a more obvious number one pick? You didn€™t think I€™d say Walt did you? Jesse has been the strongest emotional backbone throughout this series. When we were first introduced to Jesse I saw him as a lame caricature. A slacker meth head that could care less about anything or anyone. But his character arc has easily been the most consistently strong. Stronger even that Walt€™s, in my opinion. In fact, I see Jesse as the show€™s protagonist. He is the one we€™ve most come to identify with. He has the strongest moral centre and has proven a stark contrast to the evil that has been uncovered in Walt. Last season Jesse flat out walked out on Walt even after Walt refused to give him his money. It€™s harsh enough that he€™s going to be pulled back into this madness, but to have him die would be tragedy. He must survive. Jesse has redeemed himself. He has turned to protect those who Walt€™s evil has threatened on numerous occasions. He has been manipulated and treated unfairly more than any other character on the show. Many want to see Jesse kill Walt which is a fair conclusion. It would be almost symbolic for him killing the evil that has plagued him inside. But here is one character who deserves to get off scott-free. If this show is karmic then Jesse should live. It would be the one positive thing to come out of Walt€™s downfall if Jesse should escape the meth business once and for all. Who do you think will die in the final season of Breaking Bad, and who do you hope doesn't? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
