Breaking Bad: 9 Poor Story Choices

5. Fring Outstays His Welcome

Gustavo Fring was a brilliant character played by Giancarlo Esposito with relish. He was twisted, creepy, and had an amazing death-stare. That said he long outstayed his welcome. He was extremely interesting in the third season and utilised effectively, even if not to his full extent. The fourth season however saw him become a formidable threat clearly overcompensating for something, and as such fans cried for his end to come. His meth empire spirals out of control and whilst Salud was a brilliant episode, it probably should have come earlier in the shows run. If he had died in season three, or even part way through season four, another big bad could have been introduced to force Walt into more cooking. Thus, Walt€™s choice to get out of the meth world wouldn€™t have been there at all, and it would have spared us one of the many problems of the show. Taking all of this into consideration Gustavo Fring was a memorable character but it goes for something when his mode of death is even more memorable than the character himself. No one will forget his half-destroyed face. It should have happened earlier though. A lot earlier.
