Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

One of the only real flaws you can throw at Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad universe is the fact that he's struggled to create strong female characters who don't just feel like accessories and obstacles for men to face and grow from.

Skyler, of course, had some great moments, but she was always in Walt's shadow. It wasn't until Better Call Saul debuted and the indomitable Kim Wexler came along that the franchise gained a female lead who felt truly independent and removed from the development of the men around her.

A brilliant lawyer with an unshakable work ethic, tough spirit and tons of hardships to face, Kim is Jimmy McGill's love interest, but her arc feels strikingly removed from that of her partner's, as she navigates her own winding path through the law world in an attempt to finally live up to her own career expectations.

At once formidable, caring, and relentlessly hardworking, Kim often puts everyone around her to shame with her intelligence and confidence, and watching her has been nothing short of divine.
