Breaking Bad: Every Major Death Ranked
6. Krazy-8
Domingo Molina’s life wasn’t the first taken by Walter White, but it may have been the most impactful. After the lads’ initial attempts at drug dealing go awry, they manage to lock Krazy-8’s henchman Emilio in the fume-filled RV. He dies, but Krazy-8 doesn’t, and so begins his stand off with Walter.
Chained to a pole in Jesse’s basement, Walter knows that he’ll eventually need to kill him, but struggles to cross that moral line in the sand. He can’t go through with it until his life is directly threatened by Krazy-8, and when his prisoner does go for him, he chokes him to death with a bike lock.
Walter broke bad the moment he teamed up with Jesse, but this is where things get serious. As we later see, Walt is consumed with rage over his powerless existence and perceived disrespect - in killing a drug dealer of significant status, he proves that he is not to be messed with, and the rest is history.
Credit should be given to actor Maximino Arciniega and the writing of the character, who is given space to breathe. We’re able to feel for Krazy-8, but he’s crossed - and awoken - Heisenberg.
