5. Everyone Dies
One of my favorite moments of Season 5 is when Walt, Walt Jr. (I refuse to call him by the name that he chose for himself, as it is a ridiculous) and Holly watch Scarface in the middle of the night, waking Skyler up. Just hours after Skyler seemingly tries to drown herself in the pool, Walt chooses to watch an incredibly violent movie about a drug kingpin. Furthermore, Walt laughs and comments to Junior that everybody dies in the movie. Add to this the fact that creator Vince Gilligan often refers to Walts descent to evil as Mr. Chips evolves into Scarface, and it seems like this is an important scene. So what if this was foreshadowing on the part of the writers? What if this scene is setting Walt up for the exact same thing to happen? Skyler removes the kids from the environment of the house very soon after this moment; maybe she realizes that Walts nonchalance about his business makes the entire family potential collateral damage to whatever crazy things happen to Walt? So, maybe Walts meth empire comes crashing down, and it takes literally everybody around him with it.
