7. Gus Kills Victor (Season Four, Episode One)
Gustavo Fring was a bad man. Theres no doubt about it. Nevermind that he would eventually prove to be one of the more complex Breaking Bad characters, and certainly one of the more chillingly entertaining to watch thanks to Giancarlo Espositos masterful performance. For season two, and well into season three, he mirrored Walt in a lot of ways. Maintaining the persona of innocent and slightly timid businessman, all while hiding in plain sight. Sure he was running a very large scale drug empire, but he wasn't an outright villain, was he? After Walt started to overstep his boundaries it became clear that he was only making things worse for himself, eventually Gus decided that it was just too much trouble to keep him around. To ensure his and Jesses survival, Walt decided that the only course of action was to make it so that he was the only chemist available to cook his formula, and that meant killing his former lab assistant Gale. Now, Jesse killing Gale just barely missed this list (if it had been ten and not eight that surely would have made it in here), but the ramifications of the season three finale echoed all throughout season four. There was a bit of a hiccup for Guss whole operation as Mikes right hand man, Victor, ended up getting spotted at the crime scene. So when Gus finally shows up at the lab he shocks everyone in attendance by grabbing Victor by the head and slitting his throat with a box cutter. It surprised Walt, Mike, Jesse and viewers alike, and lead to Walt and Jesse trying to figure out what it was all about. Viewers also debated why Gus did what he did, but Mike makes it pretty clear when he is visibly dismayed upon finding out that Victor got himself seen at the crime scene. Wanted posters would later pop up with Victors picture, making it simple people knew his face, and if Victor were to be investigated by the authorities it would lead back to Gus.
