Joe Miller
The bookies favourite, Joe Miller is the stay-at-home father of two, and husband of DS Ellie Miller. Loving, caring, well-known around the town - surely the traits of a killer? Ellie is more often than not out of the house, leaving her husband to do what he wants, while Joe didn't take too kindly to his wife looking for Tom's laptop, which looks set to be a key piece of evidence. Most importantly, there has so far been nothing substantial to suggest Joe had any part to play, yet he has remained a prominent fixture throughout the series. His son Tom certainly seems to have been trying to hide something related to the death of Danny. Could it be an incriminating piece of evidence that would reveal his dad to be the killer? Was something going on between Danny and Joe that lead to Tom falling out with his former friend? And perhaps most intriguing, if it wasn't Nige that Susan saw on the beach with Danny's body, which other bald, white male from the town could it have been I wonder? On top of that, we already know that Joe has used the boat previously which was used to carry Danny's body.
Did he kill Danny? In terms of storyline, there is nothing too concrete which points the figure at the erstwhile Joe Miller. But in the world of TV murder mystery, the suspicion hanging over Joe is looking more and more unavoidable.
